"I'm compelled to find a way to share what I feel on canvas."
I relate to this quote by Jeanne Bessette. I love to paint, with oil on canvas being my favourite medium. I am a Semi Abstract Painter.
My Drawings are a more on a realistic approach. I’m now responding more on an emotional level. I get ideas from anywhere and get an explosion of impulsive thoughts when I am painting. I really find that being an Artist is part of who I am as a person.
I am an Melbourne based Artist. I’m becoming more confident with a knowing of my own imagary. Semi Abstract, representational and colourful. My Art influences are that of Robert Delaunay, Kandinsky, Pablo Picasso and Gustav Klimt. I have a home based studio. I feel that I am connecting with my feelings, which is coming out in my work. I’m able to do that which gives me great gratification and stimulation.
I’m a very spontaneous person. My technique is bold and brazen, spontaneous and representative. I use the human form in many of my paintings. I involve abstraction with my figurative paintings as it adds subjective and personal views and feeling. Each painting, drawing and illustrations are an individual experience. I have a need, a searching to express myself through art.
Music is also an influence, since it goes hand in hand while I am painting or drawing. It just makes sense to me. I am compelled, a unconscious drive by a desire, a questioning to paint draw illustrate.
Since 2013 I have presented works at some exhibitions such as The Chelsea Art Show, 2015,2016, 2017, and 2018. The Mornington Art Show, 2015, 2016 and 2017. The Bayside Art Show 2015, 2016, and 2017. The Knox Art Show 2015. The Royal Melbourne Art and Craft show 2015, as well as some minor shows.
I have made cards, Calenders, Pet Portraits which I’m still being commissioned to do and have sold many paintings. I am also currently studying a dual diploma in visual arts and illustration at Chisholm Frankston. |
