ARTIST BIO

A resident of Mt Eliza in Victoria, Australia, Pete paints Acrylic Seascapes from around the State of Victoria. Pete is also a Musician.

See www.petepascoe.com for more details about Pete's work.

‘I paint these scenes to bring a sense of peace into people’s homes and to remind us how beautiful Victoria’s coastline is. ’

Pete use acrylics for the vibrant natural colours. Coming from a watercolour background, his use of semi-transparent washes over stronger colours suggest light and depth. The fast drying nature of the medium keeps Pete moving and helps give his paintings a fresh sense of immediacy.

Pete’s free washes of clouds and water contrast with his fine detail of the yachts and beaches. The resulting realism, combined with the natural style and keeps the eye moving to the different points of focus.

Each painting invites the viewer to take a few relaxed breaths and be drawn into the scene.

Pete’s many well received exhibitions have helped to establish him as one of Bayside’s new painters of seascapes. Pete recieved the 'People's Choice' award in the Pinklady Artshow,Brighton.

Pete is also a Cartoonist and Illustrator of Children’s books. He draws/paints - in watercolour/pen - cartoons of animals engaged in human activities. Pete performs his lively workshops in Libraries, Festivals, Schools and Corporate Events.

Pete illustrates for magazine articles, private commissions and internet publications.
