ARTIST NOTES: Midway is a 2.4-square-mile remote island in the North Pacific Ocean. It is roughly equidistant between North America and Asia and lies halfway around the world from Greenwich, UK. Unfortunately, it is also an environmental tragedy, as much of the world’s small plastic items gather here and are tragically consumed by the islands birdlife. The world’s oceans provide recreation, beauty and inspiration, but what do we give our oceans in return?
